FAQs on Contact Lenses:

Q. Is it safe to wear contact lenses?
A. Yes, wearing contacts is safe provided they are professionally fitted and you are adequately educated on their use, and you follow the instructions seriously. Just like using any electrical appliances or driving a car, serious consequences, such as corneal infection, can occur if they are not used properly.

Q. There are so many types of Contact Lenses, which type is the best?
A. What is best for your friend's eyes may not suit your eyes. We will advise you the best lens type for your eyes.

Q. Can I continue using eye make-up after wearing Contact Lenses?
A. Of course you can. You should wear your lenses before applying make-up, and take out the lenses before removing your make-up.

Q. How do I know when to change new lenses?
A. The life span of a soft contact lens is limited and varies greatly from one person to another, depending on the lens material, wearing time, method of lens care etc. For RGP Contact Lenses, they can last much longer than soft Contact Lenses.

It is important to attend your routine after-care checkup, so that your practitioner can advise you whether to have your lenses professionally cleaned or to replace new lenses.

Q. Will wearing Contact Lenses prevent Myopia from getting worse?
A. It has been known that wearing RGP Contact Lenses can arrest some cases of myopia from deterioration and they also result in reduction of astigmatism.

A. No. Your eyes may feel slight dryness and uncomfortable.

Q. I'm approaching middle age and starting having reading difficulty, can I continue wearing Contact Lenses?
A. Yes. There is various methods of Contact Lenses corrections for presbyopic eyes, such as supplementary spectacle, monovision correction or bifocal Contact Lenses.

Q. What is MONOVISION correction?
A. This technique correct one eye for distance vision and the fellow eye for near, so the wearer will be able to see both far and near without having to wear supplementary spectacles.

Q. What type of solutions is suitable for the ACUVUE?
A. Any type of approved Soft Contact Lenses solutions may be used for ACUVUE. However, multi-purpose solutions are more convenient and less expensive to use.

Q. How long can ACUVUE be used for the occasional Contact Lenses wearer?
A. ACUVUE should be changed every 2 weeks if worn on a daily wear basis. If worn for less than 3 days a week, you should change the lenses once every month.

Q. Will cleaning with daily cleaner and enzyme tablets prolong the life of ACUVUE?
A. Cleaning with cleaner and enzyme tablets will only remove 75% of lens deposits. Although your lenses may appear clean through the naked eyes, they actually have accumulated surface deposits, which can cause irritation and complications to the eye.

Q. Is it OK to store ACUVUE in normal saline solution?
A. You must not do so. Saline solution does not have chemicals that kill germs sticking to Contact Lenses. All Contact Lenses must be stored in a disinfecting solution when not being worn.

Q. Can ACUVUE be used for eyes with Astigmatism?
A. Like other Soft Contact Lenses, ACUVUE is able to mask (cover) up to -1.00D of Astigmatism.
